GULMARG, JAN 11 (KNS): Haji Syed Salman Chishti, a custodian of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, commended the Union Government and the Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department for providing excellent facilities for visitors described Kashmir as the "exalted valley" (Vaad-e-Ulviya).
 
Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Chishti highlighted the seamless arrangements that have driven a significant influx of tourists from across India and around the world this winter.
 
"The Tourism Department's efforts have attracted a global audience this winter, and their comprehensive arrangements deserve full credit," he said. He also commended the tourism department's successful winter festival.
 
Drawing a parallel to Ajmer's spiritual significance, Chishti said that just as over 1.4 lakh devotees gathered for the Urs of Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz, Kashmir also exhibits a profound spiritual presence.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"Ceremonies were held in Khanqahs, Dargahs, and Masjids across Kashmir on the 6th of Rajab to disseminate his teachings, for Kashmir is itself a piece of heaven and is globally revered as the 'Valley of Saints,'" he said.
 
He characterised Kashmir as a land hallowed by saints and a beacon of communal harmony. "This valley is a centre of love, unity, and humanity an exemplar for the entire world. I congratulate all Kashmiris for preserving the spirit of Kashmiriyat through their dedication," Chishti said.
 
He further added with a prayer for the prosperity of Kashmir and the nation in 2026, expressing hopes for a year of hope, unity, and progress. "The authorities, especially the Tourism Department, have ensured top-tier arrangements where every facet of tourist safety and security is up to the mark," he added. (KNS)
